About This Condition
Schizophrenia can cause hallucinations, delusions and disorganized thinking, as well as negative symptoms such as low motivation, reduced expression and social withdrawal. Current medications help many people with psychosis, but negative symptoms remain difficult to treat.

As Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator, Dr. Hidalgo has taken part in studies such as:
- A study of AVP-786 for the negative symptoms of schizophrenia
- A randomized, placebo-controlled study of an investigational treatment in adults with acute psychosis due to schizophrenia
Who May Be Eligible?
Schizophrenia studies enroll adults with a confirmed diagnosis. Depending on the study, participants may be experiencing acute symptoms or be clinically stable with ongoing negative symptoms. Family members and caregivers are welcome to contact us.
