About This Condition
Alzheimer's disease gradually affects memory, thinking and daily functioning. As the disease progresses, many people also experience agitation, which can be very difficult for families and caregivers. Research is looking for treatments for the disease itself and for these behavioral symptoms.

- Treatments for agitation associated with Alzheimer's dementia
- Investigational medicines taken together with current treatments such as donepezil
- Safety in older adults
Dr. Hidalgo’s Research Experience
As Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator, Dr. Hidalgo has taken part in studies such as:
- A Phase 1 study of MK-1167 in people with Alzheimer's disease receiving donepezil
- Phase 3 studies of treatments for agitation associated with Alzheimer's dementia
Who May Be Eligible?
Alzheimer's studies usually enroll older adults with a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. A caregiver or study partner who knows the participant well is typically required.
